Form 1099-INT: Interest Income
Used by banks and other payers to report interest of 10 dollars or more paid to a person during the year, with copies for the IRS and the recipient.
What Form 1099-INT is for
Form 1099-INT reports interest paid to someone during the calendar year: bank and savings interest, interest on bonds and some other obligations. A payer generally issues one when it pays at least 10 dollars of interest, giving Copy B to the recipient and filing Copy A with the IRS. The Copy A in the downloadable PDF is for information only, because the IRS will not accept a printout of it: Copy A must be filed on an official scannable form or electronically, while the recipient copies can be printed from the PDF.
