When the browser is not enough
scanmydocz for Android
Live edge detection through the camera, text recognition that makes the PDF searchable, a signature you can place, and batch capture. All of it on the phone.
In closed testing. There is no public Play link yet, so there is no button here yet.
scanmydocz Pro
Pro is the paid tier in the Android app. It cannot be bought on the web yet, because checkout is not connected, and we would rather say that than show you a price you cannot pay.
Questions
Do my files get uploaded?
No. The rotation happens in this page, in your browser. There is no upload step, and there is no server here that could receive one.
Does rotating lose any quality?
None at all. A PDF page carries its rotation as a property, so turning one changes a number rather than the picture. Nothing is re-encoded and the text stays selectable. The usual way people do this is to print to a new PDF, which quietly turns the whole document into images.
Why is the file the same size afterwards?
Because almost nothing changed. Only the rotation property on each page moved, so the size barely shifts. A tool that made your file much smaller or much bigger while rotating it did something else to it as well.
Can I turn only the sideways pages?
Yes. A scan often comes back with most pages upright and a few landscape. Choose to turn only the pages that are wider than they are tall, and the upright ones are left alone.
Can I rotate one page on its own?
Not in this tool. It turns every page, or every page of one orientation. For a single page, split that page out first, rotate it, and merge it back.
Can I rotate a password-protected PDF?
Not directly, and it is refused rather than worked around. Rewriting it would quietly strip the protection somebody chose to put on it. Open it with its password, save an unprotected copy, then rotate that.
Does it work without a connection?
Opening the page needs one, and so does the first rotation, because that is when this site hands over the PDF writer. The work itself uses no network, and your file is never sent anywhere either way.
