Split PDF

Take a range of pages out, or break a file into its pages.

  • No upload endpoint exists
  • No network code in any engine
  • Every tool driven in a browser each release

Choose a PDF

or drop them here

How it works

  1. Add the PDF.
  2. Choose a range of pages, or ask for every page as its own file.
  3. Download the result. A range comes back as one PDF, every page comes back as a zip.

When the browser is not enough

scanmydocz for Android

Live edge detection through the camera, text recognition that makes the PDF searchable, a signature you can place, and batch capture. All of it on the phone.

In closed testing. There is no public Play link yet, so there is no button here yet.

scanmydocz Pro

Pro is the paid tier in the Android app. It cannot be bought on the web yet, because checkout is not connected, and we would rather say that than show you a price you cannot pay.

Questions

Do my files get uploaded?

No. The pages are taken out in this page, in your browser. There is no upload step, and there is no server here that could receive one.

Does splitting make the text stop being selectable?

No. The pages are copied across as they are, so text stays text and nothing is re-compressed. A page taken out of a contract is still the page, not a picture of it.

Can I take out pages that are not next to each other?

Not in one go. Choose the first range, download it, then choose the next. A single range is what almost every request for this is, and a page picker that handles a four hundred page file without exhausting a phone is a different tool.

What comes back if I ask for every page?

A zip, with one PDF per page, numbered so they stay in order. Each file is a real PDF with its text intact.

Can I split a password-protected PDF?

Not directly, and it is refused rather than worked around. Writing its pages into a new file would quietly strip the protection somebody chose to put on it. Open it with its password, save an unprotected copy, then split that.

Is there a page limit?

None is imposed. Every page written becomes a small PDF held in memory until the zip is built, so a four hundred page file asked for one page at a time will use real memory. A range is far cheaper than bursting the whole file.

Does it work without a connection?

Opening the page needs one, and so does the first split, because that is when this site hands over the PDF writer. The work itself uses no network, and your file is never sent anywhere either way.
