Form TD1: Personal Tax Credits Return
Completed by an employee so their employer or payer can work out how much tax to deduct from their pay.

What Form TD1 is for
TD1 is how your employer or payer works out how much tax to deduct from what they pay you. You fill it in from the best estimate of your circumstances. If you do not fill one in, your deductions will include only the basic personal amount, estimated by the employer or payer from the income they pay you.
Who uses it
- Someone starting a job or a new source of pay
- Anyone whose credits have changed during the year
- A non-resident, who also states a country of permanent residence
What the form asks you for
- Last name, first name, date of birth, employee number and address
- A social insurance number
- The basic personal amount, and any further credits that apply to you
- A signature and date, after reading page 2

- Form T1213 if you want a reduction for deductions or credits that are not on the TD1.
