Your data

What happens to a file you upload here

Uploading here means your file travels beyond this screen: it is stored, and read by a third-party model. Here is exactly what that means, named plainly rather than left implied.

Sent to Google Gemini's vision model, reached through Deplyra's own routing gateway. Your browser never talks to Google directly; the file goes to our server first, and our server calls Gemini on your behalf.
What's sent The image or PDF you upload, so the model can read the text on it. Nothing else about your device or account is included in that call.
Where it's stored The original file in object storage (Cloudflare R2), and the fields extracted from it (merchant, date, amounts, line items) in our database. Both are private to your account.
Kept for Kept until you delete it yourself; there is no automatic expiry today.
How to delete it Deleting a document removes both copies: the file from object storage and the row from the database, in that order, so a failed delete never leaves one behind silently. While the on-screen delete button is still being built, email [email protected] and we'll delete it the same way.
Who can read it Only your account. Every document is scoped to its owner at the database level, not just checked in application code.

Why a hosted model at all

Reading a photograph of a receipt accurately, including handwriting, faded thermal print, and receipts in more than one language, is not something a browser can do reliably on its own today. Getting that accuracy means your file has to travel to a server and on to a model. We chose to name that plainly rather than soften it.

What this page will not do

It will not describe this product as one where your file goes no further than your own screen. That is a different, true claim about a different kind of tool, and printing it here would make it false.
